Ghost towns are strange and fascinating places, often reflecting some great upheaval that led to their doom. Some become unlivable due to environmental disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis to nuclear meltdowns. Others become the center of military activity and remain contested and uninhabited as a result like Varosha. I have rounded up ten notable ghost towns from across the globe for this list. Of course there are more. Feel free to use comments section to share your knowledge. I may come with part II for this interesting topic.
